It's (in part) a function of frequency. Users who reply waaaaaay in excess of what's typical and get waaaaaay too little engagement in spite of that are /by definition/ spamming. Or there's a good chance they are, anyway. Always fringe cases but the ML isn't clever enough to spot them.

I agree at some point but also this thing has traps. I saw people getting flagged because they said the opposite opinion of the big account. So also people that flag others should be more responsible

Counterpoint: I've followed a lot of new accounts, recently, on purpose, because my feed was getting boring and I wanted fresh perspective.

It's a marketplace of ideas.

As Dan says, no one is entitled to attention. You have to earn it. But good quality participants are /desirable/ -- people who bring good ideas to the table get clicks and follows.

Maybe not as easily as before, but that's still the play: make frens (like you would IRL).

I understand many aspects of this but sooner or later it will be the end of your interaction. There is no fucking way people will look past all those questions and be like, he/she feels very genuine. But yeah, I don't blame people for taking that route either.

It's why I prefer "make frens" over "be engaging."

(Actually, I just checked and it takes about 5 clicks... 🫠)

It's not clear if a single spam report is enough to get labeled.
But it wouldn't be surprising if your vote carries more weight, given that you have an OG FID and about 90,000 followers.
(At the very least, the system should be designed to prevent malicious bots from abusing the report feature.)

We have more bots rn than in “active badge” times, but it’s not how algorithms should pick who is bot or spammer - it’s work for creators of fc we are here to use it/support/create not fight with bots
