best tips for quieting a racing mind at night? recently tried to write (by hand) things down to clear out my mind but it had the opposite effect (created new ideas)

One common advice I hear is to get out of bed, do something else like read, meditate, stretch, etc (no screens) until your mind stops racing and then get back into bed

Meditation 🧘‍♀️ there is an art to really learn how to do it and let your thoughts pass by instead of lingering etc.

Tbh I meditate but still have to have the pen and paper to write down and remove it from my racing mind so I can get back to focussing. Stuff just pops up as soon as you start to quiet yer mind. Don’t knock the good ideas popping up it’s great! Once you’ve trained your mind to get back on track a few times it gets easier and quicker to get quiet again.

Breathing exercises help to regulate the nervous system which has a calming effect on the mind. Diaphragmatic or alternate nostril breathing helps promote balance and can allow for more restful sleep.
