Users who use Twitter is a small (relative) number, anyway.
The rest get their news from Facebook, TikTok and IG.
It's not about "instead of reading the FT or check CNN, I'll read X".
It's:
- "was this an earthquake? let me check X"
- "fuck, prices dropped 10%, what happened, let me check X"
- and the most important, "I spend my time there, I'll get across the current thing, whether it's a meme, something that happened at the Oscars, or a war".
At least this is the case about everyone I know or I have ever interacted with on X. Btw, very few people I know interact with their irl friends -unless they are in a group where irl friends are also X active users, like startups, news, politics. 2 replies
