How should we feel about a system that pushed hundreds of thousands of auto follows to some accounts, to bootstrap their local celebrity status?

The people who are on the auto follow list are boring and deserve to compete with the rest of us for virality

That's a lot of words to say "yes, it's a premine". :P

I casted in channels, I even co-hosted ~5 channels, had a number of high engagement posts, I definitely earned my 194 autofollows per this formula!

I told people last summer to cast in channels. People who casted in channels and got engagement got added to the list.

200+ people were in the pool.

It is what it is? The system will be judged on its "upward mobility" over time. If 5 years down the road Auto-follow ("Old Money") users will still be dominating the network that's probably a bad sign.

For me it's 13%, who knew 😯 But total the follower count is off by about a 400, probably they are the ones who unfollowed

feels like a techie version of winning the lottery without buying a ticket!
