Hah. Ironically this is actually not the reason why. I apologize mainly because I want to be the kind of person who apologizes when I believe that I’m in the wrong. 

And I fundamentally don’t care if the thing is sentient or not or ever will be. It’s more about cultivating a certain attitude towards others and believing that How I interact with them ultimately matters

If I learn someone does this to their LLM I assume they are not people I want to associate with

Yeah I think AI conversations will be the greatest litmus test for determining if someone is genuinely kind or just nice to comply w/ social norms

never miss an opportunity to be the best version of yourself. the best person I can be is to recognize when I am wrong. doesnt matter to who or what I was wrong to.

Same. Especially if I lashed out on them in frustration from my own mistake. I would like to think that being nice to them somehow gets them to give me better info (clearly unfounded).
