Does anyone else get frustrated by how much stuff they have?

I’m out of space but also have no desire to increase it either. 

There’s a build up of things that have survived multiple deep cleanings. Difficult to throw away; too much work to sell. It accumulates.

I want to start over but feels wasteful.

Even tho it's a bit over the top, I like some of the approaches in the konmari method. Keep only the essentials. 

Yeah garage sale would be the best way to get rid of the stuff. It's not really a thing here in Finland. Have to do it manually and that makes it so frustrating.

I guess this is why folks garage sale.

Absolutely, it's bloody annoying. I need to do a real purge soon. My closets are full of stuff. I did this about six years ago, and it's incredible how much stuff you accumulate. One room and closet at a time. 

At least I had time to clean the house yesterday.

takes me about 3 times of last minute deciding to keep, before getting rid of something. Thinking about if you would realize if it was gone helps to go through with it.
Skip the garage sale and just donate to goodwill and be done with it, garage sales are dead and not worth it at least where I am

yes, and this spring i got smacked with the "THROW EVERYTHING OUT" urge so i've been going closet by closet and bag by bag and just chucking it all out (or donating)

If I know people that may want it I ask around for a day or so then list it for free on FB classifieds and leave it on the street near my house with a free sign. No calling or asking it’s it’s available or anything, just a come and get it type thing with note saying If it’s not gone in a day or two it gets tossed

What’s your go to way of giving something away?

I’ve found it harder than it seems sometimes.

It’s taken me years but I have been paring down to a point where I am pretty ok now.  

Giving things away if you know of people that might use it feels far better then tossing things.

Likewise. I had a good culling moving to Japan. 3 years later I’m back.

when I moved to another country I had to throw away a lot of unnecessary things and this helped me learn to throw away stuff more easily. but in any case, now it is also accumulating in my apartment again, I think this is a constant problem…

i spent many years trying to move whatever i could to digital space but physical stuff continues to accumulate and now i also have a lot of digital clutter (╥_╥)

It's built into us to not want to get rid of things. It's tough.

Just got a storage locker. Changed my life. Still have too many t shirts though lol

Maybe starting small with one area at a time could help ease the process without feeling wasteful. You're not alone in this!
