thanks @joeblau
to be clear @nickysap anyone is free to follow with a batch swap app, it's not like it's a proprietary idea or i invented it, but i am similarly free to decide whether or not i respect it, and to comment on it if i want
so if you (Rips) have a frequent top 10 mini app on a network as small as farcaster is today, and you so blatantly and shamelessly copy another top 10 mini app's UX into your product, without any reference, or any changes, in a way that is far too much the same to have been any possibility of a coincidence, i personally do not respect that, that's all
i tend to or at least try to give people respect as the default, but there are things that can be done to lose it, and things that can be done to increase it / get it back. Rips builder has lost it, with me, for now. he could probably get it back to some degree with 1 reasonable message. i try to give people the benefit of the doubt as well, be understanding of mistakes, etc., but build better
as for @joeblau if we launched days apart obviously we would both have been working on it for some time before. kondo isn't something you can like vibe code in a day or two. even still we are trying to make improvements. batch swapping is new and especially within the context of farcaster with a number of things outside of our control and even some outside of farcaster's control, it's hard. anyway i believe joe and my products were pretty different, and certainly no one would have mistaken one as a carbon copy of the other like Rips is of Kondo.
there were also other attempts at batch swapping on farcaster like a quick sprint by @myk and i actually reached out to him to get a greenlight on building kondo because we had either not yet started or just started (i can't recall), but i had tweet from months prior about wanting someone to build this, and no one had done it the way i wanted it yet, nor in a way that worked as well as i thought it needed to work. myk offered me to fork his project (we didn't) and said go for it, and we did, and based on people's response, we did it well.
just some context, not just for you but for anyone in the comments section curious for more nuance 1 reply
