if you are someone who loves NFTs and hates content coins: a content coin is just a 1/1 NFT that's fractionalized so more people can own it.

yes. It's something that anyone on the internet can buy any amount at any time. we started with 1/1s and continually iterated to improve the creator and collector experience and after around 5 years arrived at coins being the best ux.

Not sure I like this framing. Because with NFTs the creator is selling them. They get, say 90% of the sale. With content coins, the creator isn't selling them. They're being sold by other fans, and the creator only captures 1% of the value.

Ok I’m really sorry, but an ERC20 will never be an ERC721. With all due respect, it’s not the same thing.

same goal, different things, fully compatible creator tools a content coin is a FT || NNFT || !!FT it is a non non fungible token or a fungible token but not a non fungible token and, it is not only fractionalized but got an amm instead a pure p2p market (with middlemans, ofc) they are very different things for me, tho, I got your point, with content coins everyone can collect the thing and opportunity is a bit more fair, the price will be lower but one can buy any amount and the opportunity gets distributed, not just 1 person owning the most cool cyberpunk and earning millions but those millions distributed among the market cap and holders of a piece of content on top of creator coins and zora replicating one of the top ethereum features, being paired with all tokens in the ecosystem it could work imo

I think it would be pretty interesting from a UX perspective to show the share that you own vs. an arbitrary number - reframe from number of tokens to fraction of the content.

I appreciate your commitment to cointent & its place in the ecospheres 🫑 Having some struggles onboarding @mikesmillerart to the TBA but once we get that sorted out, you'll have Grandpa Mike dropping the high level comic artist cointent as well πŸ˜‰

fractionalization is best in high value NFT scenarios that maintain or increase value over time inevitably the rational (and easy) move is to sell the fractions, so the coin goes to zero πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ i am Team Collectible

I compare NFT's to pokemon cards a lot. In this example you are taking a charizard card and fractionalizing so everyone can have it. If that happened the price of the card would go to zero. See now why people aren't all that ecstatic about it? It's a phase and people will buy in for now but I doubt it will last long.

We love nfts and coins, but we definitely believe that the difference in liquidity you are referring to here make for different collector experiences. In our opinion the answer is just- why not both? Does it have to be only coins now?

Content coins and NFTs are technically the same. The difference is in the limitation on ownership. Content coins is for everyone Base is for everyone. 🟦

sure, but fractionalizing makes it lose value.
