Just finished listening to the Peter Theil NYT interview. Biggest takeaway is the elite tech right is stuck in 2020. He seems convinced Greta Thunberg is goddess of the left despite most people haven’t paid attention to her for 5 years.

my problem with Thiel is that he treats humanity as a game of chess and shows clear signs of a sociopath. he is very smart and successful, yes, but what makes him stand out in tech bro circles is his multi-year destruction of Gawker. this person is now one of the intellectual masterminds behind the new world order!!

Thiel is what happens when wealth buys you power. I find it so hard to be a techno optimist when the people in charge are racists who hesitate to answer whether they want the human race to survive.

Went on to look this up, I can say he’s sharp but kinda locked into old reference points. Like the world’s moved on, but he’s still battling ghosts from 2020. Strange fixation.
