Can’t post in /politics but has anyone been seeing more right wing stuff in their YouTube feed? I don’t consider myself either a leftist or a rightist (not gonna bother with all the different terminologies here) and I don’t engage with it, but between this and seeing ads to join ICE in Gmail, I wonder if we’re being conditioned to think a certain way to prepare for what’s coming.

I’m starting to grasp that there is a nontrivial number of regular people who legitimately could not care less about the well-being of civilization. I’m not talking about anarcho-primitivists or people who feel like they’ve been shafted somehow by modern society. I’m talking about otherwise seemingly normal and healthy human beings who for one reason or another believe their lives would be better without civilization and quietly wish for its downfall.

Farcaster is: - fully onchain - an internet-first ideologically aligned community (as much as is possible for 1M+ FIDs) - financially beneficial to highly active and engaging users - a platform where people can crowdfund causes - creating multi-day in-person gatherings (still working on crowdfunding these gatherings - used by influential people who can potentially advocate real world practices in line with our community values
