This is why Blackbird is crushing it. Users don’t care or need to know if an app’s backend is GCP or AWS, the product just needs to work. Infra should fade into the background! Blackbird really needs to do a better job educating the restaurants and their staff. Blackbird Pay experience at restaurants is pretty confusing as most don’t know how it works or get easily confused and have to ask a manager. Managers are annoyed by it and oftentimes I just result to paying another way. Pretty frustrating tbh. Still a big fan but it doesn’t “just work”

Oh yeah I’ve also had a range of experiences from Brooklyn Brewery using it seamlessly to a bar in West Village telling me they have no idea what to do I was commenting more on the user experience being familiar and abstracting away anything “crypto”. No signing transactions with your wallet or minting NFTs

Same issue on my end. Restaurant turnover is rampant- training is minimal on “non-essential” systems. Owners will sign up for better margin on payment processing, force managers to implement the pucks, staff turnover monthly and only care about the next cigarette/where their friend bartends that night. Still v bullish on BB

i like the frustration because then i end up making friends with the managers and offer me to hit them up directly for reservations in the future. this has happened twice.
