I basically only worked for startups after my first real job. Upside: Cutting Edge tech and you're working on the bleeding edge of technology. You solve the problem. Downside: Boom or bust. And when it busts, it busts hard. Motivates you to move fast and have a higher tick rate than your peers, but everything else feels like its at 0.25x speed. 100 $tipn

I've been going at it, solo, for about 4 years now. It's always going to be hard, with how quickly everything is evolving, in regards to tech. My advice to anyone wanting to plant their seed, be prepared to fail, and be prepared to field a ton of "no" answers. It's frustrating and I love/hate every second of it.
