"I am thrilled to announce that I'm canceling my free OpenAI membership. I liked the two months period where I didn't have to use real money to reach a sub par model. Here's what it taught me about B2B SaaS: - Free user to paid user churn rate is very high, depending on your project architecture, you might end up losing money because people might not get enough value to actually pay for your product. - When there are ways you can use a SaaS product to outsource another one, subscription or payment for the other SaaS becomes redundant. Cursor credits do more or less the same as an OpenAI subscription. - It really doesn't matter how well you market it and how much of an innovator you are if the user doesn't fw your product. Never use sub par OpenAI models for accounting advice, I still hold a grudge. Reminder: Why would I pay for something I get for free with my current tech stack? Do I seem gullible?"
