Grammarly is used heavily in non-tech-focused businesses. When I was at ClickUp, I worked on the Docs product and so many ClickUp customers had problems because of the Grammarly extension that I had to send surveys and get on calls to learn more. Turns out these businesses do use and often pay and rely on Grammarly heavily.

think it’s used in higher ed often for plagiarism checks kinda like turnitin; so universities pay them and then give students account

We have a company account and I'm added to it As a non-native English speaking person, Grammarly is very helpful for me However, sometimes it gives me weird suggestions when it comes to sentence rephrasing

i use the premium one via my friend who is an employee there. they get to share with friends and family. but have stopped because the desktop widget feels quite intrusive and annoying

Use it, don't pay for it They had also acquired Coda a while back (not sure what's up with that) Maybe going down the Notion route through that? (Hence the AI tools)

My native language is french. My english writing is "sometimes" (my kids would say "often"!) different than how an American would write -> I use Grammarly to correct my writing (when it matters) My wife does the same (she's Mexican).
