Any strong arguments 721 vs. 1155 for the Farcaster Pro NFT? It’s 10,000 of the same NFT. So naturally 1155 makes sense, but seems like people prefer 721.

721 has better support imo, but my request is that it is easy for developers to easily grab a list of all owners directly from contract. Having to rely on indexing or 3rd party NFT API sucks

Why does it have to be the “same NFT”? Whether using AI or a simple generative algorithm, it shouldn’t be too difficult to make 10,000 unique images, even if colors are the main differences. Definitely way more fun this way.

They want the 721’s because they’ll be numbered so tokens #1, #69 etc will be sought after. Agree 1155 is a better mechanic for “mints of the same media”

light preference for 721 over 1155. number makes it a more interesting NFT to own. if you bought early, you get an earlier number.

721s feel better but they’ll also increase speculation since they’ll be numbered 1155s probably fit better for the intended purpose here but i think the token ID uniqueness of 721s is cooler plus the art is easily upgradabale in 721s where this collection image could be the Farcaster Billboard if you updated the image periodically

naturally makes sense is a very good and strong argument for me anyway, 1155 will allow you to launch a second edition with a different tokenID inside the same contract, like a wave 2 for 10-20k, or for the next year wave or whatever 721 get tokenIds but as jacob said then you have to assign them

I think people would find the 721 more desirable. But seems like a dumb (albeit inevitable) thing to speculate on. Having the NFT number is the only reason I can think of to not use 1155. Tbh doesn't matter to me

i get the simplicity and speed argument but there is an epic opportunity here to make a fun and compelling and farcaster native collection that embodies the ethos and culture of what is happening here so 721 at least to leave the window open for it to be something different than all the same
