I used to like gm but I now only see it as the lowest form of engagement in public spaces, especially Twitter and Discord servers. All variants of β€œgm if you gm”, gmgmgm, or gm trains all make me die a little inside. I just imagine a wasteland of broken robots that are sentenced eternity to gm each other.

I’m going to make a positive argument for β€˜ser’ and maybe even β€˜fren’ I see ser as a need in the crypto culture to simultaneously have β€” ways to signal respect or deference β€” ways to signal opposition to traditional forms of hierarchy In this sense they serve an actual purpose β€˜gm’ feels cringe
