chat, is a coffee shop being open 7am-2pm every day 'bizarrely limited'?

My local coffee shop does 7am to 4pm on the weekdays. I wouldn't call two hours shy of that "bizarrely limited". I think you're getting a review from someone who's accustomed to Starbucks.

Yes, they should close at noon as coffee shouldn't be drank after lunch. Capisce 😁

Not really. Joilet in Playa Vista stops at 2pm (but does reopen later as a bar). Ending at around 3pm (with food stopping at 2:30pm) seems to be typical for places that close in the afternoon. Chains excluded, most of the places that stay open after that turn into bars.

3-5 is super slow for most shops I know of (esp outside urban areas), so I get closing at 2. Most shops around me open at 7 as well and I’d like just a half hour earlier.

Unfortunately post-covid it seems to be the norm to not be open in the evening, though most places are open until 4? Not "bizarrely limited" though.

Fair hours. At a push I’d say should be open until 3pm.

Sounds like euro hours… Closing so early in the day, totally depends on location, proximity to afternoon & evening traffic, demand for snacks and iced coffee, and staffing situation. We have places that focus on coffee do those hours around us, yet we are in a small town.”

If you’re used to 5am-midnight (like Starbucks) this would be limited. But you’re not a chain so this is perfectly ok
