Hot take, loosely held... We don't need micro tipping on FC. Blockchain needs micro transactions for international payments, but Farcaster needs a way to tip great content $3-$5 so that 5-8 people tip & creator makes $15-$20, not $0.33 Not a knock at all on @noiceapp @tipn & others! Appreciate what they are doing & I'm watching & learning. Open to correction--'loosely held'

you can already do this by just sending that person crypto through your wallet and for noice, you can set certain comments (like ok banger) to trigger a higher payout (you also have to have a large enough population willing to send $3-$5 to great content, which is highly unlikely compared to microtx that are "set it and forget it")

what you said is similar to what I wrote on Clip in relation to $noice. the way to achieve this imo is somehow through channels where a token or brand sponsors mods to distro these amounts to top creators or commenters. I think micro-tipping still adds value to the network but agree with your core point. $Degen might have a shot to figure this out too in the new app https://farcaster.xyz/jdotfinn/0xd0482b4b

most social creators don't make money from likes, but from brand deals based on attention they get lesson in there

I agree with you but it also seems completely unrealistic to ask people to tip $50-100 a week - don’t get me wrong I’d love to be on the receiving end of that but I couldn’t ever reciprocate without some sort of crypto UBI and even then i suspect you’d just be tipping out whatever you earned for net zero

That’s a great sentiment. The problem is a lot of us. Don’t even have that kind of funding to be able to tip creators like that and tip people so we do with what we can and hope that there’s ways that we can get funded for bigger payouts for others too.

I have been using @capminal.eth to tip /enb yappers on x easily, and with different amount based of effort and quality of contents, I am thinking that an ai agent that can do that on farcaster won’t be bad also , might just build it for $ENB

IMO micro-tipping isn't about users earning income, it's about the web3 ideal of maintaining community owned infrastructure. Things are heavily subsidized now, but in the long game, value should flow to people providing the most positive impact on the network, allowing them to spread value to their network, and fees from top contributors should support the transaction fees on the network, ultimately supporting those running the infrastructure and helping them pay their bills.
