Meaning: the practice of organizing countless in-person conferences worldwide for the globally decentralized crypto community is a necessary first step towards materializing cloud communities into physical form. Itโ€™s an important thing that many donโ€™t yet think of as important. Like video games leading to AI GPUs, or social media leading to AI training data.

Farcaster reversed this though. FarCon started as a small community gathering in 2023 (70 people gathered in Boston on a weekend) and each year it's starting to feel more like a conference.

FC has a running start on becoming a Network State. Serious people who spend all their online time together and are *thrilled* to meet IRL. (This is on my mind bc of FarCon in NYC this week). โœ… Live + work together online. โœ… Meet up semi-annually. ... ??? ... Network State. ^ What do you think the next step is?

False. - Bitcoin happened before the first Bitcoin conference - $DEGEN happened before the first DEGEN conference (aka Farcon 2024)

Easily the opposite. Any great idea starts when two people come together. To have a conference, you need an established community to attend it.

Agreed, people will realise this in time. ENS names will be the root of these communities.

These conferences only magnify the cultural and wealth divide in this industry as well as racism, sexism, and the lack of event organizing x production skills ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ Going to a conference to see the same 85 men circle jerk is a waste of resources and energy #SideEventsShallProsper

Chicken and egg. Each grows the other (proto-chicken <> proto-egg). Different origins/paths across cases i.e. conference first vs online community first
