Am I the only person who reads several books together and doesn’t finish at least half of them? Currently in rotation: - The Americans and Everybody Else by Russian author I. Kurilla - Saving Time by J. Odell - Die My Love by A. Harwicz (short one but I broke it up in 4 segments) - You Are What You Watch by @walthickey

I am your polar opposite. ☯️ One at a time only. If I abandon it’s a big deal.

I was one until done or nothing for most of my life. One of the habits I wish I discarded way earlier. I can drop books on a whim now. I am free.

If I am dropping it, I didn’t do my due diligence and it should have never been picked up at all, is my POV!

Sometimes, which is why the number of books I’ve abandoned is non-zero. But on the flip there have been books (mostly non fiction) that I’ve found absolutely challenging that have ultimately been incredibly rewarding Had I been non committal I would have never known. One at a time is a forcing function for me to make sure I stay the course even when I am not glued to the page

If non-fiction is too complicated/boring for me, it’s not worth it Already spent too much time on useful reading is school and happy to settle for a healthy mix of intellectual stimulation and entertainment It’s awesome that commitment to serious stuff is working out well for you but the absolute majority of ppl myself included simply don’t have time for non-required reading
