I’m tempted to run the unfollow everyone script Because tinkering with programmable social was fun in the early days and I want to bring that feeling back And because I feel like I also need a reset But I know when I refollow people I’ll miss people I care about as collateral damage and that breaks my heart a little bit

I did it. I assumed I while organically see people again. I did not. But I was able to rebuild my following by seeing who conversed with me. No regrets. October and November of 2024 i followed no one.

I remember and I also remember Cameron doing it Feels like might be a fun experiment to run and I also just think it’s fun to play with APIs

It was fascinating to see what the algo wanted me to see when I followed no one. I learned a lot honestly. I think everyone should do it.

It was quite prevalent in the feed. It shifted my whole perspective. I was sold this narrative that if I didn’t like my feed, it was my own fault because of who I followed, and when I followed no one, I could clearly see everything that the algorithm was inserting into the home feed how much I dislike it and now that we have following, I use that almost exclusively unless I’m doing an experiment
