a good thing, purely on the basis that it implies your own freedom to choose how you want to live your life and who you might want to 'fit in' with. if the multiculturalism is a trojan horse to force you to adopt a specific rigid perspective, then that part isn't good.

diversity is necessary for survival biological, technological, ideological, cultural. it is also necessary for supremacy, as all great empires have shown

This is a weird question… Question is too simple for the context maybe?

It’s a good thing but it needs a uniting element ideally Otherwise, it’s easy for people to live alongside each other but not really integrate or interact

this is a tricky question because even within countries that seem homogeneous there are different ethnic groups. E.g. China and Russia And the “bad” or “good” frame applied absolutely to something as complex as human relationships in a large shared geographical space is naive.

For whatever it’s worth I think Harvard just released a study of 30k people with findings that are very negative on the impact to community engagement, voting, volunteering, etc. I’ll see if I can find it

"culture" is too vague of a term can't have a diverse set of core values and have a society you can have a tiny little diversity in customs and be fine. not too much. you can go nuts with food and music and arts without dilluting much problem is all of the above are lumped into "culture" and get discussed without nuance

Pluralism bridges cultural divides, teaches and creates new knowledge, diversity of any kind also creates multiple forms of resilience. Issues arise at the intersection of intolerable differences and extremist perspectives.

completely different cultures only create problems as nothing is normally designed for that people from one culture end up uniting in neighborhoods etc and it becomes a chinatown etc
