Aquarium is finally cycled. Top of cabinet cracked and replace with a heavy duty butcher block that was stained and sealed by a friend! Fish are happy!!!

say hello to monkey
monkey’s life is something of a fairy tale…
she was abandoned in tsunami weather in 2008. we asked the security guard at our compound to let us know if the owner returned and when they didn’t we took her in. at the time she was a few years old and being protected by an old stray cat. she couldn’t stand on her own when we got her in. she slept for days.
she learned all her commands in chinese, shanghainese and english. she traveled around china with us. she had 3 puppies. she got a passport and immigrated to the united states.
now we guess she’s about 17-19 in human years. she still spazzes out when she sees my wife and runs all over the property trying to catch field mice, a skill we still think her cat shifu taught her years ago.
