Don’t feel obligated to follow big accounts. We were once told FC is like Facebook; “why follow or comment when you’re not friends with them?”
Exactly.
So unfollow all the big accounts, quit commenting on their casts. 
Easiest way to avoid a spam label. 🫡😉

Preach it!!! Been saying that since DAY 1. I unfollowed all those they told me to follow. The ONLY big account that are needed if that are the founders yet IDKYK

Well said. When I first joined Farcaster, I followed a bunch of big accounts but I wasn't getting any value from them, so I unfollowed them and stuck to the ones whose posts I actually enjoy. Now Farcaster is so much fun for me.

Create alts until one gets in favour of the top people, that’s how you win with the current farcaster algo.

Game is Game, i’m not against it or complaining.🤣🤣

So many accounts make good casts but I don’t see them till days or weeks later and it has barely any engagement. 
They say to do our part and get our friends out of spam jail but what if they got rid of the spam..seems newer accounts are more alts and spammers. 
Idk it’s all a MESS.

I’ve noticed the spam label easily affecting new accounts because they reply bigger accounts, and these bigger accounts casts appear more on their feed.

To get noticed here, you need the engagement of those accounts, but that’s also another problem lol. Few get seen, most get spammed and just don’t return anymore.

Agreed! Been marked spam by commenting on higher ups even when they asked for feedback.

This is the best advice, but a lot of people won’t listen, they come already thinking the big accounts are the best, they will boost them. 

But you don’t just fly like that, unless you want to fall quickly into spam😂

EXACTLY!! Then when they don’t like or comment under your cast, you’re labeled spam eventually.

You're right, I don't get it why they ask for review or our opinion regarding any new update if they're just gonna ignore us🤷.

I’m still “small” and use other clients. I’m being cognizant and more stingy about who I follow just because any additional follows that don’t engage for the other creators' chance of even getting rewarded because it’s just so much additional noise and numbers hurting in this algorithm.

And even with the ones that I follow now I still don’t see them all. Makes me feel bad as well since again I don’t wanna be hurting my friends and family because we all need to make a living and feel like we belong here.

So true! Especially cause lots of big accs will literally not even like your comment and thats one of the criteria of the spam algorithm cause it thinks the acc thinks youre a nuisance lol

The big accounts I follow are people I actually connected with and like to read their casts. But I need to unfollow the ones I don’t engage with or care about what they share.
