Any recs for knife rolls or other ways to travel with kitchen knives?

I send my knives in to be sharpened by professionals.

In between sharpenings I use honing rod (aka steel) made of ceramic to straighten the edge of the blade (which notably doesn’t sharpen)

Absolutely, a few swipes down the steel before use keeps them cutting nice. Are the professionals local? I started sharpening my knives a few years ago, I’m not great at it…so always open to new ideas :)

I would get one from my local restaurant supply store: functional,  utilitarian, used by chefs/cooks...

these knife rolls are great and I usually prefer the smaller knife rolls as they take less space. Bernal is a great company.
