Buying a new MacBook this week. 

Def doing M4. Was thinking 32 gb ram, 512 ssd should be more than enough 

Does anyone have strong opinions on the air vs pro? 

My current one is a pro I bought 6 years ago. Seems like there’s a “lightweight / aesthetic” argument to the air which might be worth thinking about

Honestly better value compared to the base Mac Pro. I do a lot of photoshop (product editing) and video editing (tiktoks) and it works speedy with an external monitor. Sure the screen isn’t as good and there aren’t as many ports but I’m not paying an extra $800 to replace some $20 dongle lol

wdym when you say the screen isn’t as good?

The pro has 1000 nits and the air has 500 nits. I think the pro can show HDR while the air cannot. The refresh rate on the air is 60hz but on the pro it’s 120hz. So the screen on the pro is double better than the air. My eyes aren’t that discerning tho
