People who are interested in living in a long-term network state node (so, permanent location, not popup), what are some properties that you would like such a node to have?

Must be a great place to raise my kids More specifically: safe, has other families with kids my age, vibe-aligned, good education (co-op/alt ed is good), social support for parents Ideally safe enough for an 8yo to roam free without adult oversight and low risk from cars

a long-term network state node should have strong community values, self-sustainability, robust infrastructure, decentralized governance, access to resources, innovation hubs, and a focus on collective growth.

- good weather - clean basic infrastructure (water & sewerage) - some sort of body of water nearby, beach :) - airport access, ideally a major hub but maybe one hop is ok - strong property rights, i should be able to do whatever I want on a piece of property I own - it should be large (I’ve seen NS’s that are like a city block, I want more space) - great hospital - crypto enabled (payments, access, voting, transparency, etc)

If this helps, if Chiang Mai, with its multiple pop up cities in the month leading up to devcon, were a permanent location, I’d live there full time Top Reasons - lots of people with similar interests to me - still a city with all the amenities you could want close by - good weather - cheap

A community cafeteria. Was just talking about how every neighbourhood needs a come and go as you wish food space. Chef's Together at Lanna served this purpose pretty well. Related sidenote: Community ovens feel like theyre a predecessor to this. Apparently a very old and cross-cultural phenomena. https://www.citynibbler.com/home/2019/2/20/communal-ovens-morocco?format=amp

- there's a physical decentralization/security, i.e. EDCs have multiple WLAN access to Ethereum - more bazaar, less cathedral - transparently distinct privacy vs "world oracle" spaces - "Kowloon commons" mentality, i.e. open solarpunk community center w/ unfettered community activity/infra on periphery many such facets.

+ An ability to receive all the same goods (fresh quality foods etc) as a large cosmopolitan city + A full service private airport + A fully equipped ER / Pharmacy + A secure deal with Starlink The rest of things — including school, recreation, etc — we can build internally

- security/self-sufficient around: water, food, housing, energy - 1st and 4th amendment but no homeland security loopholes - mandatory green space per human ratio that can never be amended - mandatory community/military service - no 9-5 systems/schools infrastructure - secular (yet allows religious activity/congregation in private) - direct democracy with fixed 8year terms; no way to topple except majority vote - fixed tax %age based on wealth (not income) - coastal location with mountains - no immigration except by birth after first cohort; no dual citizenship - no state media; no foreign media; no for profit journalism ie a cocktail of finland, vancouver, hawaii, japan and singapore
