these ppl live an existence where the cost of your monthly ETH gas could be life changing

they're scrapping and clawing to make a better life but God forbid that makes your doomscrolling less efficient

I want to keep this convo going and get more voices involved

@kenny makes a meaningful point about humans aspiring upward!

That said, as a builder, the UX is undeniably worse for people that will pay me more money. 

Left unchecked this kills the product AND their opportunity

Kenny’s point is well-taken & he’s right. The solution isn’t chaos, though.  

Don’t we have what we need?
• Channels for topics
• Ability to mute words & channels from one’s main feed (maybe not this yet)
• Freedom for channel mods to hide casts that violate channel norms (any kind of off-topic spam)

Actually agree here - the biggest challenge is when you start putting people into boxes and refuse to let them out (this is what I think happened to crypto on twitter)

FWIW, I think Elon’s X have done this well at times. Injecting (usually) thoughtful posts from other perspectives. It’s incredibly hard to get it right, no doubt. 

Personally, I’m not into airdrop farming (anymore; I couldn’t keep up) in the same way I’m not into lots of things. Limited time & attention.

I think the last big puzzle piece is a custom trending tab (or maybe we have this already? @v keeps his algos close to the vest)

This is probably where the culture bubble gets burst the most for people. 

Seeing a degen tip chain pop off instead of something cozy and thoughtful is simulation breaking
