We ran a two sided marketplace for child care; matches happened but the economics sucked, very difficult to pay child care workers what they deserve while satisfying price sensitivity for parents

Expected average in LA is $2k/mo. Neighborhood and potty training also play a big factor into the sticker price.

this is why people still choose to be homemakers. even if they want to work, keeping their job and paying for childcare can result in them losing money, rather than becoming a stay at home parent while the other parent works more hours. this still often results in the household making less money overall, dropping from two incomes to one, even if they are saving on childcare, not to mention the additional costs that come with having a child.

The numbers are high considering that monthly housing in the west is close to $30k monthly. Proportional to each other it's more accurate
