going to maui for the first time ever in a few weeks for surfing, hiking, eating, LIVING. what are your best recommendations?

I stayed with a friend that lives in Makawao and he said that some of the best surfers in the world live and train around Paia - its a cool town on the north coast while most big hotels are on the west coast

Easy access to to tons of beaches a bit west, and road to hana in the east

Get a lomi lomi here, it’s unreal. (I don’t normally do this sort of thing, but it was recommended to me and they were right. Also fun couple activity).
