If America were to have its partition moment (India-Pakistan) separated by Red-Blue states, which side would you move to? Knowing that it’s basically a permanent decision and there is little to no immigration b/n the two.

This happens in Neal Stephenson’s “Fall” (which I already referenced once today, oddly) In that book Red becomes totally failed state. They regress back to like ancient times and start crucifying people again. And no one can get medical care

True liberals don’t belong in either the red or blue bucket. I’d create a no-blue-red-zone state in New York with Staten Island as the capital.

60% of federal tax revenue come from blue states while $1.24 of federal benefits are paid to red states for every dollar paid to blue states. California would do pretty well as an independent country with the 5th largest economy in the world with the pacific fleet in San Diego and marines in Camp Pendleton
