the lens.xyz onboarding flow is pretty neat

1. free account creation
2. choose an app to use your account with

clear messaging, maintains neutrality towards clients

requiring users to create a farcaster account to use your app feels like an anti pattern since they won't have any of the benefits that a farcaster account is supposed to provide when they sign into your app (social graph, profile data, etc)

you're almost better off having a email / social auth / wallet sign up flow for users without a farcaster account

what if farcaster miniapps would have a dedicated entrypoint for onboarding purposes?

those apps should have dedicated entrypoints to sign users in with lens though. half of them don't use lens as a primary authentication method anymore

something that will trip them up though is the fact that i signed up with a wallet in my browser. now when i want to use any of these apps on my phone i'm going to have to import this wallet into a wallet on my phone – ngmi

it's also worth noting that lens.xyz is a developer-facing site, which makes sense as it's the website for the protocol

there is a lot they can improve, including adding more detail about these apps – maybe when you select one it should preview the app and tell you a bit more about it. but i was referring to the "Create your Lens account and use it on these apps" message

What do you find clear about their messaging?
The screen you share has a bunch of apps with no descriptions of what they are. Does that change if you click on them?

I joined Lens couple days ago and I have to say I really like it.

People are super supportive over there and it doesn't feel as "business" as Farcaster does.

same feeling! also the family wallet contributes a lot.
