Sort of true. China understand 3rd world countries. Iāll use Brazil for example. I understand their politics(I am originally from there) The Chinese come in and āinvestā in these countries(they do this in many ways). The government officials take their money and āinvestāin the infrastructure of the country but in reality only a fraction of the investment is used for the public while the rest goes to the politicians pockets. They own a lot of the farm land in Brazil look up syngenta Technically a Chinese government company now. In other words the people get screwed either way, nothing is done for the people just corruption on corruption. Us or china just take advantage of countries with a lot of corruption to extract natural resources. And Africa is much worst a lot my friends that are from there say itās the same. Chinese have slowly gained the upper hand over the us in the past 10 years or so and nobody noticed.

My take as a westerner thatās been to Africa a few times is the Western idea that China is just another colonizer is too simplistic. Yes, China benefits (a whole lot) but so do many African countries. Theyāre getting infrastructure like roads, railways, and hospitals in return. And unlike past Western powers, China isnāt trying to erase African culture or rewrite history. At the end of the day, itās up to each countryās politicians to negotiate deals that actually serve their people. And honestly, this is one of the reasons why China has a relatively high approval rating among many Africans itās not seen as a savior or a colonizer, just a partner. But time will tell.
