1. It’s not about speculation. It’s about collecting (like buying magnets on vacation bc you want to save a memory)

2. Our digital lives are overtaking IRL. If you have collectors in the real world, they’ll exist in the digital world, too, as normies move on-chain.

only normies don’t understand tokenized things and it’s a matter of time until someone by mistake buys life savings worth of some random coin only to get it all rugged by some early sniper bot lol 

buy ins could be capped to make sense for that thinking you’re writing about

3. You’re not trying to get rich. You’re building a carved wooden box of keepsakes.

4. Most posts will have a very low market cap ($0-$10).

5. A few extraordinary posts will be worth millions (imagine if you could own a bit of Do Kwon’s “Steady Lads” or SBF’s “1) what?)” 

6. Collecting posts is the single best attack vector decentralized networks have against incumbent web2 giants. It’s a way to push value to the long tail of creators who are essentially marginalized/ignored today.

8. The real mindflip: tokenized content isn’t about speculation. It’s about love.

It’s absolutely about speculation. No one is buying these posts to have a collectible.

this is a smart take and exactly where I see the broader space evolving, esp. with the passing of a digital asset framework stateside… the key thing being digital assets will prefigure prominently and that of course includes digital collectibles 

makes me think too that a lot of crypto’s speculative function isn’t necessarily to be done purely in of itself, but to drive incentives and behaviors for more interesting outcomes, combined with collectibles this has powerful and unexplored potential

The urge to collect is a powerful driver. Whole sub-cultures will form around this as we endlessly search for what could be valuable or that creates moments with meaning onchain.

Agree. The fact most tokens go to zero is a feature, not a bug.
