Caster Rewards update

Starting this week — June 3rd to June 10th

1. Increased the recipient pool by 18% from 2,530 to 3,000

2. Increased the prize pool by 45% from $20,000 to $29,010 

3. Changes to tiers — top tier is now $600, new middle tier between $125 and $30

Rewards Algo Update

We're also updating the rewards algo this week

We're no longer going to count deleted casts, reactions, recasts or replies. This means in some cases, people will see scores go down mid-week.

We're also making a few other tweaks. Change will roll out later today. 

The algo is never going to be perfect, but the goal is to reward high signal top-level content on the network—from anyone!

Were replies and quote casts always counted before this?

Thought only top-level casts counted hence the /quotecastguys meta.

Quote casts - top-level cast, so counted

We may nerf quote casts a bit or pass through engagement to the original posted in a future update.

Replies not counted is kind of a bummer. I always felt like it is the best "metric" of engagement on a cast, and I like replying to the content I like. 

Also, I always felt like I was contributing to someones score if we talked on a certain reply extensively (not that that was the reason for the convo, just sayin').

To clarify:

Inbound replies are counted.

Engagement on your replies you do for others is not counted.
