One of my favorite pieces of advice for home decor was to fill the house with stories, not decorations. In practice this translated to finding objects that shared memories, fables, wisdom, and pain. The home becomes a conversation with your life - past, present, future. And when a beautiful object didn’t have a story, you can give it one with grace: by including it in an event, a visit, a toast, play.
