This is a resounding victory for anyone who's running a dsa/left wing populist campaign showing that the machine can be beaten

nah, I don't think you can both dismiss low-information voters as "just voting for a name they recognize" and insisting that Cuomo polling high early was indicative more than name recognition. 

this is p common. household name polls high and then as campaign wears on, they fall. Jeb(!) also owned in 2015 polls.

I’m sure the establishment will pivot by ending ranked choice voting. At a minimum it will take control of thr narrative that they lost.
