This is the problem I have with SV grind culture and the young deferring happiness in pursuit of startup success. (Not my post, to be clear) https://livingkindfully.bearblog.dev/i-am-48-today/

But wouldn’t a mindset of gratitude and some self awareness lead to more happiness in the present? Seems like you could find happiness in SV grind culture too Feels like this is more about loving the game then thinking happiness is some future goal you can reach once you have or do X

I’m 33 years old, I don’t know what else in this world would interest me. I don’t know if my life has been difficult or it’s just not exactly what everyone’s used to? I wish I could share my story with everyone, it’s I don’t know.

Counterpoint: some of my happiest times were the craziness of building startups. And there’s nothing more satisfying than knowing what you and a team of good people can do if you really apply yourself. That’s one thing I want my kids to experience and do it early in life.

SV culture is terrible. I lived amongst it for long enough but luckily not in the grind culture. Hardware dudes like me got it easy peasy because they just have to do what I ask when I ask lol. If I say I'll be back in a week, they couldn't do shit about it 😜
