i've come to the conclusion that at events crypto or otherwise we are responsible for our own safety and should be conscious of the dangers that exist 

and really not ever rely on the people or orgs creating the containers we inhabit

Growing up I always heard these terrible questions when women were violated.

“What was she wearing?”
“Did she tease him or lead him on?”

It’s been drilled into my head that anything bad that happens is my fault and I wasn’t being safe. 
It’s a terrible mind fuck. 

And it’s why as an adult I spend so much time in Japan. I can just breathe and not worry about being safe. I can just exist.
