I miss Tonkatsu so much. I can make it at home, but it’s never as crunchy as the professionals. This is one of my favorite quick bites when I’m in Japan. When they are deep fried oysters on the menu, I’m even happier!

This is a fillet cutlet!😋 I always have a hard time choosing between loin cutlet and fillet cutlet.😆 Lately, beef cutlets have been on the rise as well.🥰 Fried oysters are often a winter-only menu item, but fried horse mackerel, fried shrimp, and cream crab croquettes are also delicious, so it's hard to choose.

I find outside of a Japan not many people can get the same Juicy thickness of the Tonkatsu right and it becomes a pork schnitzel. Gotta get that thicc pork with a bit of fat to make it right. Legit surprised you like the Kaki Fry or deep fried oyster. 😆 It’s the one thing I feel aussies do better with eating it natural and a little lemon for the Sydney rock oysters.

Tonkatsu is one of the soul foods of Japanese people. We are happy to hear that you like tonkatsu. Curry, another Japanese soul food, and pork cutlet go very well together, so if you have a chance, please try "Katsu Curry," which is curry rice topped with tonkatsu.🐵
