I would recommend https://plausible.io/ as an alternative. If you want more user behavior tools (funnels, recordings, click paths, etc) https://posthog.com/

I have been struggling with this crisis for the last few weeks. Itโs paralyzing to try and make sense of GA. And consensus from talking to people is Google fucked up GA.

Everyone says to use GA4 now you need an expert to set it up. I hired someone to do google tag manager and then set up my conversions etc - he was very good so happy to recommend if you like!
