i built a ramen profitable business with @jj it's literally a money printer we print and mail checks for people growth is slow, revenue is only a few hundred dollars a month right now today i spent a few hours fixing a bug affecting one user so we could get their first check mailed with us out 3 hours of work for $7 in revenue despite the humble revenue, it's just been really fun to build, and see things like SEO pay off over time and the more time we give it, the more it can grow some days like today though I wonder if it's worth the time and effort for such a small reward but when jj and I have talked about shutting it down, we just love our little business too much. it's fun! we're doing lots of things that "don't scale" right now (we hand print, seal, stamp, and mail to post office each check), but every so often I'll spend a few hours on it and we'll automate parts of the process it's exciting imaging that it could slowly grow itself to $1k / mo or $10k/mo and dreaming that it could maybe grow one day to $5k, or $10k/mo hypes me up and keeps me going so for now we'll keep improving things, and see where it takes us :)

Hell yeah. Do you think you could do the same thing for โ€œprint and send a PDF?โ€ Have thought about this from time to time and would absolutely use it.

how did you come across this need and decide to build it? I love building micro apps but struggle to find even minorly profitable use cases

I literally installed this app because it solved a problem I had. But never followed through because I didn't know if y'all were going to keep it or kill it. This is your laundromat business. Make it cozy + quirky, and it'll print forever.

Bootstrapping something on the side and letting it grow slowly is a great way to learn what the real market dynamics are. Throwing a ton of money on ads and growth levers can hide other problems. I love this
