Generative art, in an abstract direction - most likely focused on highly textured works!

go watch ducky3d tutorials and just follow along in blender. its easier to learn than you might think when you have someone saying aloud all the keys they're pressing. Imphenzia is another good beginner tutorial guy to follow. He does these very quick modeling challenge where hes constantly telling everything he does

so satisfying. Never done woodblock carving but done a bit of linocut. it was sort of the beginning of my journey into art as a pasttime 7 years ago. Went back to it in the last couple weeks actually. carved some noggles lol

You can use low temp melting point metals in silicone.  Smooth on has some that works really well but bronze, silver and aluminum are so hot they just vaporize it and hot metal shoots everywhere

Yeah I've been talking about that process with some people recently. I have a lil secret project i was commissioned for... I'm probably going the more reusable casting way, with silicone or something. But doing the old fashioned way seems so satisfying.

If it can be a variation of a current it would be lost wax ceramic shell bronze casting.   I have only done sand casting so far.  

The levels of detail and patterns are unlimited with lost wax but I need so much equipment and space it’s just out of reach at the moment.  Hopefully someday I can get there.

Oooooo that’s awesome!!! I did a bit of metal work years ago but it was very commercial, just miles and miles of that aluminum fence you see literally everywhere!! Always thought it would be rad to do something more creative with the equipment!

Oh yeah absolutely into that. I have done a bit. Looking to do more soon, actually. My latest Muse Editions artwork shows where my mind's at right now. My studio that I rent gives me access to a welding shop. I have some Tig and mig experience

Very broad answer! You don't have any experience there? Totally recommend diving in to some digital art, plenty of free and cheap apps to start with

I would choose digital art because not only it is convenient, more people are interested in those kind of arts compared to the traditional arts. Doing that will give me enough money and time while getting a new skill

I’m already a woodworker but would love to learn more to work with metal (welding, etc) both for use in furniture but also sculpture and abstract wall art that blends the rustic feel of wood with the industrial feel of metal
