Something I’ve learned in my 20s is that: It’s good to be a simp. If you admire someone, let them know. U don’t need to play it cool. Follow their work, fangirl over it, talk about it. Show up to their events and comment on their things. Don’t be afraid to be seen in your admiratory-state Professionally, like networking-wise But also if you have a crush! Eventually, often that person ends up recognizing you and feels seen/heard by you, and some sort of relationship is likely to be born not being afraid of being seen is a marker of confidence and a strong sense of knowing what you like

Further lesson... If you're still doing it as a 56 year old balding white bloke, there are many places that will ban you! (And, unfortunately, a few that won't)

Being a simp but with intention is just genuine appreciation. It builds real relationships ..in work and in love. Most people hold back out of fear of looking too eager, but real ones notice when you show up consistently. That’s what makes you memorable.

Aside from the silver lining, it can hurt with unwanted side effects when it's unreciprocated simping or 1 way communication from the simped
