Has anyone’s relationship to travel changed with age (say 35+) and/or after becoming a parent? If so, how?

To answer my own question, as a one-time globetrotter I generally detest it (traveling solo) now Relearn just how much so each time I head to the airport — it’s a physical detestation Short hops easier than long ones Mostly fine when I hit the ground at destination

Yes. I have way less desire to do so.

Young kids have made me want to travel much less, even for work. I still miss it a good amount, since it's a great counterbalance to remote work, but I'm looking forward to travelling with them when they are older.

I’d say my relationship changed in such that I want to and try to travel more now than I did in my 20s. Being able to travel with my kids is a joy and it’s what I prefer to spend my money on versus spending it on things. From 35 on, the change has been more about having the means to travel.

Kids reaching school age had bigger impact than age, or becoming a parent. It’s much harder to travel together when kids are in school.

I'd love to know if someone’s has NOT changed. And how they've managed that.

Stuff I do now is way different. Now I’m more likely to just be doing touristy stuff with family and friends. Back in the day I would couch surf, party, and make new friends.

Ha I am getting lazy and lazier, especially when involves driving. One thing that matters more is to be with family or to see family.

we travel less, though i wish we did more. when we do travel, we do "family holiday" vibes instead of "travel adventures" makes me a bit sad. I'm hopeful to re-kindle the "travel adventures" in a decade or two

I realized I was using travel to continuously bootstrap living-in-the-now (Tolle) ...I still travel often but I'm not traveling to escape my local reality -- so I want to travel less.

No longer interested in trips (defined as site-seeing, activities, etc.) rather only vacations (e.g. beach, sit and do nothing)
