Has anyone’s relationship to travel changed with age (say 35+) and/or after becoming a parent? 

If so, how?

You could try car camping/ glamping.
They have some very luxurious equipment now; but albeit heavy/bulky equipment.
It's a lot to pack up and clean and put away though.
