An institution (e.g. coinbase) that will serve as a guardian for your wallet's social recovery scheme.

I want a few security-minded organizations to each hold a key to my core multisig, to make the idea of social recovery a bit more secure.

Makes sense with Shamir secret sharing you can do this/this is what I did.

Although it’s getting fancier nowadays, safe has some cool stuff they’re cooking.

slightly different—call it "semi custody". I want to secure a treasury with social recovery, probably in a 3/5 signer scheme. I'd keep two of the keys, I'd give two to trusted people, and then ideally store one with a secure institution, or possibly multiple institutions.

fireblocks is the industry standard for most cayman-based orgs. Den is also working on something here

There were a number of CeFi businesses looking to migrate to semi-DeFi starting with this exact solution back in ‘22-‘23, but at the time there were too many regulatory concerns around that being considered custody. But that might be an option now

check the League of Entropy or drand to know more but they use this system to generate secure random numbers and the keys being held by universities and institutions
