Anyone know why / how bars get those umbrellas or tables with beverage brands on them?

Is it free? Is it part of a distribution deal? What’s the logic behind it

most likely a sponsorship deal with the bar?

I wonder if it’s given for free no strings attached or if they only give it if the bar distributes their beverage

most of the bars ive observed usually serve said brands on tap, so guessing its a brand deal with the bars.

would be weird to have a logo of the drink but not serve it anyway

Only the bars that distribute their brands receive the free umbrellas. 

Bars also receive free beverage-branded banners and posters from those same brands. 

Classic way to spot dive bars - lots of banners & posters hung inside and out. 🍻
