i dont follow sport at all but always thought the utility-maxxing strategy was betting on the other team, so that either way at the end of the match you feel great never found someone else who actually follows sports and shares this view

Hedging like this should also happen for political betting as well. I found it shocking that people saw political betting as bad when its exactly the kind of product you should use to maximize utility and hedge your happiness.
