People don’t realize how lucrative it is to be a food content creator, ESPECIALLY in Southeast Asia πŸ’° I almost never got paid in the US vs in Malaysia where restaurants ask for my rate card right away. Why? Malaysians find food recommendations on social media like IG, FB, & TikTok vs Americans use Yelp, a free food review platform. That means a brand’s presence on social media is far more important there - that’s how they get customers - so they HAVE to allocate marketing budget towards influencers. Not to mention there are less creators here, so less competition = more paid opportunities. If you love food and sharing your experience with others, you should try being a food influencer.

But how are the videos!! I felt like there was a gap in Malaysia with storytelling and providing value (being clear on location, ambiance, prices, best dishes to order, etc) so I filled the gap :)
